Men’s Shed members
received a special gift on
the long weekend, receiving
almost $5000 of funding.
Member for Barker Tony
Pasin was in town to hand over
the cheque, which is from the
Federal Government’s National
Shed Development Program.
Mr Pasin congratulated the
men’s shed for its successful
application, which resulted in
$4800 worth of funding.
“Like similar sheds across
Australia, the Loxton men’s shed
offers support to any local men
who need a bit of space and some
friendly, easy-going company,”

Shed welcomes federal cash boost
Ray accepts the challenge

Ray Edwards has thrown
his hat in the ring as a 2019
Loxton Mardi Gras Senior
Mr Edwards will be sponsored by
the Mill Corner Historical Precinct
and as part of his Mardi Gras quest,
Mr Edwards hopes to raise the pro-
file of Mill Corner.
“Mill Corner is a historical bit of
dirt in Loxton,” he said.
Mr Edwards said the Loxton
Mardi Gras is one of the many
things he loves about the town.
“We get an inspiration and then
we go out and do it,” he said.
“I’ve just about seen them all, but
there might be one or two I have
“I like that it brings together the
community... and it’s a good fund-
raiser for the district.”
Mr Edwards said he is currently
organising a working committee
and anyone who wishes to help him
fundraise is urged to make contact.
