Before his accident, Docking started a diesel
mechanic apprenticeship at Karoonda, and raced
motorbikes and sidecars.
"All the nurses in rehab said I couldn't do it,
but eight weeks after my accident I was back on
a quad bike and then I started racing a side car,"
"There was never a point where I thought I
couldn't do it -- I knew it would be hard, but I just
had to find my own way of doing things."
Earlier this year, Docking completed the
Spartan Obstacle Race in Melbourne and Sydney.
"It was hard, especially the 9-foot walls, but it

"You get a medal every time you complete

"You're only as strong as your mind."
The True Grit obstacle challenge will be held

Fighting fit for Grit
Although there was only a small crowd
in attendance, there were plenty of good
darts thrown at the season opening
Mystery Doubles at the Monash Club
last Thursday night.
Neil Flack was paired with new player Les
Platten and they went through undefeated to
claim the title.
Les played well all night and will improve as
the season goes on. Neil and Les defeated Mark
Seeby and Dieter Roessel in the final.
Highest pegout of the night was 118 by Danny
Coombe. Coombe also had the highest score of
the night with 180.
