Loxton Red won the Bowls Riverland
midweek triples final on Wednesday.
Despite finishing the minor round in fourth spot,
Loxton Red hit its peak at the right time of the season,
beating Berri Red by six shots in the semi-final and
then Waikerie by seven in the final.
Des Schliebs and Ross Coombs had big wins for
Loxton Red to guide the side to victory.

Victory for Loxton Red
Loxton siblings Tamzin and Gerrin Jenke,
along with Berri’s Kerry Treloar, have been
selected for South Australian country bowls
The teams will take on their metro counterparts at
the Marion Bowling Club on Saturday, March 7.
Treloar will skipper a rink in the women’s team,
with Tamzin Jenke also part of the team.
Gerrin Jenke was named in the boys team.
Meanwhile, the North Eastern region had mixed
results at the recent country round robin carnival.
The North Eastern men won four of their seven
matches, with Berri’s Mark Kubank and Waikerie’s
Wayne Collins skippering teams.
The women’s team had more of a Riverland fla-
vour, with Renmark’s Jocie Cooper, Barmera’s Carol
Shugg, Lyrup’s Sue Lloyd and Berri’s Kerry Treloar
skippering rinks. The team won two of its seven

RSL through to grand final
Loxton RSL will play Berri in
the Bowls Riverland division one
Saturday pennant grand final at
Loxton this Saturday.
Berri went straight through to the grand
final with a 19-shot victory over Renmark
in Saturday’s second semi-final to set up
a shot at six straight pennants.
Loxton RSL came from third spot,
beating Waikerie in the first semi-final
on Saturday by 20 shots, before defeating
Renmark by three in Sunday’s prelimi-

and Leesue did likewise against Wright.
However, a 19-shot triumph to the
